Dr. Wipke also shared the following message with the community on Sept. 21:
Thanks to you and your hard work and support, Prop L passed in March with an overwhelming 74% approval, our ribbon-cutting ceremonies took place in June, and the construction work on our Future-Ready schools is well underway. It is now time to develop a strategic plan for 2022-2027, one that will ensure our district priorities and graduates are also future-ready.
Over the summer, I met with our Ladue Schools Board of Education, my Executive Leadership Cabinet, and leaders from each of our buildings, including Special School District Administrators. Our discussions were focused on a portrait of a Ladue Schools graduate, which concentrated on the attributes and skills we hope all of our students would attain before graduation. Our Board of Education also created high-level district goals.
Now we need your help with prioritizing these goals and providing feedback on any areas that were not considered. This will be done during our strategic planning process, between now and April 2022.
There are four phases in our strategic planning process and we want your input every step of the way:
- Phase one, taking a Panorama survey. In the next few days, you will receive a communication from your building principal on when and how you can participate in the survey. We have partnered with a vendor, Panorama, to help us gather valuable feedback around the climate, culture and other school-related topics to better inform us, as well as provide benchmark data for our Future-Ready Strategic Plan.
- Phase two, participate in the Community Engagement Forum. On Tuesday, October 12, from 6-7:30 p.m., we invite our entire community, students, parents, staff, and other stakeholders to join us in a virtual discussion about the characteristics of a Ladue Schools graduate, review the district goals, and weigh in on how we might prioritize them.
- Phase three, join a subcommittee. Over the next few months, you will have an opportunity to participate in a district subcommittee, which will be led by one of our district administrators. Each subcommittee will be asked to work in small groups around a specific topic to review survey data and the key takeaways from our community engagement forum.
- Phase four, compile a report. We will gather the information from the work of our subcommittees to prepare a report of recommendations, which I will present to our Board of Education for review and approval.
As you see, we are looking for your input in developing our five-year Future-Ready Strategic Plan 2022-2027 every step of the way. A follow-up communication from your building principal will be sent to you in the days to come, followed by the Panorama survey. Until then, save the date October 12, from 6-7:30 p.m. for our Virtual Community Engagement Forum.
I’m excited about the work that lies ahead and I look forward to seeing you on Zoom.
Thank you for your continuous support of Ladue Schools.
