Thinking Big: Ladue Students Top the Leaderboard at St. Louis Area Brain Bee

Ladue Schools is proud to celebrate four outstanding Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) students who placed in the top 10 at the recent St. Louis Area Brain Bee. This challenging neuroscience competition, held at Washington University in St. Louis, pushes students to master complex topics including brain anatomy, medical research, and the science of human emotion.

Special congratulations go to junior Nathan King, who earned first place overall in the competition. With this impressive win, Nathan has officially qualified for the 2026 USA Brain Bee Championship, which will be held at the University of California, Irvine, this April.

Our other top finishers demonstrated incredible skill and dedication to finish among the best in the region:

  • Zoran Pan (10th Grade)
  • Bryan Yang (10th Grade)
  • Sarah Shao (9th Grade)

The Brain Bee is more than just a test of facts; it is an opportunity for students to dive deep into the mysteries of the human mind. To prepare, these students spent countless hours studying the intricacies of the nervous system and the latest breakthroughs in neurological health.

This achievement highlights the district’s focus on providing students with high-level opportunities to explore their interests and prepare for the future. Congratulations to our future neuroscientists for representing Ladue Schools with such distinction!
