The Power of Dance: Ladue Students Raise Over $60K for Children’s Miracle Network

The students of Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) have once again demonstrated their commitment to making a difference, raising an impressive $60,644.12 through their 12th annual Ladue Dance Marathon (LadueDM).

This student-led initiative supports Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and benefits two local children’s hospitals: Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The Ladue Dance Marathon has become a beloved tradition at LHWHS, with this year’s event bringing together nearly 150 students, faculty, and the community to raise funds and awareness for pediatric healthcare.

Ladue Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim Wipke praised the students for their dedication, sharing, “The Dance Marathon was nothing short of incredible! Our students, faculty, and sponsors came together to create an unforgettable night of joy, energy, and community service. Seeing our students unite for a meaningful cause is truly inspiring, and I could not be more proud. Way to go, Ladue!”

The impact of LadueDM is deeply felt by the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the families they serve.

“On behalf of all of us at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, I want to thank you for the time, effort, and passion you put into making this year a success,” said Emily Hornak, Vice President of Foundation Partnerships with CMN. “We are so impressed by you and your students’ commitment and passion for this movement and cause at Ladue Horton Watkins High School! I know the funds you have raised will make a tremendous difference for patients and families who rely on the care provided in your community.”

In addition to supporting CMN, the Dance Marathon serves as a testament to the leadership and dedication of the Ladue Dance Marathon Executive Board.

“I am so proud of the hard work and determination of the Dance Marathon executive board, exclaimed Lauren Fisher, LHWHS school counselor and LadueDM sponsor. “They worked tirelessly all year to fundraise and plan the culminating event. Through it all, they never lost sight of the mission they set out for: raising money that goes directly to the Children's Miracle Network and two of the local children's hospitals because Kids Can't Wait.”

The board spends months organizing LadueDM, working behind the scenes to secure sponsorships, plan the event, and invite "Miracle Families" to share their powerful stories.

Among the night's many highlights was the ever-popular "Pie Your Friend in the Face" fundraiser—an activity that even Dr. Wipke enthusiastically participated in! Leading up to the event, students also organized a 3v3 basketball tournament, a co-ed basketball clinic, a dog wash, and special morning treat sales, all contributing to the fundraising total.
