Senior Angela Chen Named Post-Dispatch All-Metro Girls Tennis Player of the Year

Ladue Horton Watkins High School senior Angela Chen has been recognized as the Post-Dispatch All-Metro Girls Tennis Player of the Year, capping off one of the most successful seasons in program history.

Angela’s outstanding fall season included winning the Class 2 Singles State Championship, a performance that helped propel the Rams toward an unforgettable team finish. Her consistency, composure, and competitive spirit positioned her as one of the region’s top athletes and a pivotal leader within the program.

Her recognition adds to a long list of milestones for LHWHS girls' tennis this year:

  • Class 2 Doubles State Championship: Kayla Chan and Jenna Song brought home the doubles title.
  • Team State Championship: The Rams completed the season 18–0 and captured their third state title in the last four years.
  • Coaching Honor: Head coach Genie Hong was named the Girls Tennis Coach of the Year by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA).

This combination of individual and team excellence reflects the strength of the Rams’ program—a culture built on hard work, unity, and the pursuit of excellence both on and off the court.

Ladue Schools congratulates Angela Chen, her teammates, and Coach Hong on a remarkable season and on representing the district with pride and distinction.
