William Thorne, a 1st-grade student at Reed Elementary School, has made waves with his winning design in the St. Louis Aquarium and Missouri Sewer District’s World Water Day Sticker Competition. His creative work will soon be transformed into a sticker and handed out to visitors on World Water Day at the St. Louis Aquarium.
World Water Day, celebrated on March 22, is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of protecting and conserving water. Students were invited to design stickers highlighting water’s vital role in our world as part of this effort. William and his classmates embraced the challenge in Mrs. Knoot’s 1st-grade Idea Lab class, channeling their creativity into designs that inspire action.
Among the many impressive submissions, William’s artwork stood out, earning him a well-deserved spot as one of the contest winners. His design will serve as a reminder to aquarium guests that small actions can lead to a significant impact when it comes to protecting our planet’s water.
The Ladue Schools community is incredibly proud of William’s achievement and creativity in helping shape a brighter, more sustainable future—one sticker at a time. Congratulations!
