Old Bonhomme Elementary’s Miriam Gewirtz Receives January’s Excellence in Education Award

Congratulations to Miriam Gewirtz, an Occupational Therapist with Special School District at Old Bonhomme Elementary, who received the district's Excellence in Education Award for January 2025 at the Jan. 29 Board of Education meeting.

“Miriam deserves this honor because she is always willing to go above and beyond for our students and staff, and it's because she loves what she does.” Dr. Stephanie Simon, principal at Old Bonhomme Elementary, explained. “It's not because she wants the recognition, although it is something that she appreciates. She does it because, at her heart and soul, this is what she wants to do. She wants to help all students thrive.”

The Excellence in Education Award recognizes outstanding Ladue Schools teachers and faculty and is awarded monthly at each school.
