Making a Difference: LECC’s Jennifer Corcoran Named 2026 Starfish Award Winner

Congratulations to Jennifer Corcoran, a Special School District (SSD) teacher at the Ladue Early Childhood Center (LECC), who was surprised this week as a recipient of the 2026 Starfish Award.

The Starfish Award is a prestigious honor reserved for individuals who have brought about significant change through seemingly small yet deeply meaningful actions. Jennifer was surprised by both LECC and SSD staff as she was announced as one of only eight winners selected from across St. Louis County.

Jennifer’s recognition continues a tradition of excellence for staff serving the Ladue Schools community; she joins the ranks of previous winners, including Ladue Horton Watkins High School’s Kerry Bennett, who was honored with the award in 2024.

To be considered for the Starfish Award, candidates must:

  • Consistently demonstrate unwavering compassion and kindness.
  • Leave a remarkable imprint on the lives of students and families within the Special School District and the 22 partner districts in St. Louis County.
  • Offer vital support during challenging circumstances.
  • Generate a ripple effect of positivity, creating a nurturing environment for all.

Jennifer’s dedication to her students at the LECC exemplifies these qualities, as her daily actions create a nurturing and supportive environment for the district’s youngest learners. Her selection from a pool of nominees across the region underscores the vital role she plays in supporting students during their most formative years.

Ladue Schools congratulates Jennifer Corcoran on this outstanding honor and thanks her for the kindness and compassion she brings to our district every day.
