LHWHS Senior Jason Shi Named U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist

The accolades for the Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) Class of 2026 continue to roll in. Ladue Schools is proud to announce that senior Jason Shi has been selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

Jason is one of only 627 semifinalists nationwide to advance to the final round of one of the country's highest honors for high school students.

Jason’s achievement adds another chapter to our district's incredible run of success. This marks the fourth time in the last five years that a LHWHS student has reached the semifinalist list. This legacy includes Class of 2023 alum Max Yang, who was ultimately named a U.S. Presidential Scholar, one of only 121 students nationwide to receive the honor that year.

Reaching this stage reflects years of hard work and dedication. Established in 1964, the program identifies the nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors based on academic success, leadership, and service to their school and community. Applications are by invitation only, with initial candidates identified by exceptional SAT or ACT performance.

"Having a student recognized at this level is always a proud moment for our school community, but seeing this level of success sustained year after year is truly special," said LHWHS Principal Brad Griffith. “Jason embodies the commitment to excellence that we strive for in Ladue Schools. We are thrilled to see his hard work recognized on the national stage."

In the coming months, the Commission on Presidential Scholars will complete its final selection. Those selected for this historic honor will be awarded the Presidential Scholars Medallion to commemorate their achievement.

Please join the Ladue Schools community in congratulating Jason Shi on this incredible national recognition!
