LHWHS Junior Aaron Lin Earns Silver Medal in U.S. Physics Olympiad

Ladue Schools is proud to recognize Aaron Lin for his outstanding achievement in one of the nation’s most prestigious and rigorous academic competitions: the United States Physics Olympiad (USAPhO). Aaron earned a Silver Medal, placing him among the top physics students in the country — a distinction reserved for only the top 25% of competitors nationwide.

Aaron’s accomplishment is even more impressive because he achieved the highest score in Missouri and Illinois, showcasing his exceptional mastery of physics.

In 2025, 394 students from across the United States were honored for their performance on the USAPhO exam — a multi-stage challenge that tests deep conceptual understanding, problem-solving skill, and sustained commitment to scientific excellence. Students who receive medals are ranked as follows:

  • Gold Medal – Top 10%
  • Silver Medal – Next 15%
  • Bronze Medal – Next 21%
  • Honorable Mention – Next 25%
  • Commendable Performance – Remaining students whose efforts merit special recognition

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Aaron and thank him for representing Ladue Schools with such distinction. Aaron’s success reflects his hard work and critical thinking skills. Way to go, Aaron — your dedication inspires us all!
