Ladue Schools Students Star in Muny Kids + Teens Troupe

Ladue Schools scholars continued their excellence outside the school building this summer as five students were selected to participate in the Muny Kids + Teens Troupe.

Three Ladue Horton Watkins High School students joined one Ladue Middle School student and one Reed Elementary student in participating in multiple shows at the Muny for the highly acclaimed program. The students and the shows they performed include:

Amelie Lock, 10th grader at LHWHS, “Les Miserables,” “Waitress,” “In the Heights”
Adaeze Loynd, 11th grader at LHWHS, “In The Heights”
Amara Loynd, 8th grader at LMS, “In The Heights”
Landon Page, 10th grader at LHWHS, “Dreamgirls,” “Waitress,” “In The Heights”
Arden Powell, 4th grader at Reed, “Disney's The Little Mermaid”

“I have absolutely loved participating in the Muny Kids and Teens program for the past six years,” Amelie Lock exclaimed. “It has become a huge part of my life, and I have made some of my closest friends through The Muny. Because I started working at The Muny at age 10, my experience at Ladue was a huge reason I could handle a professional environment at such a young age. We have been taught how to be independent thinkers and people, and I know that that helped me in my first shows.”

The Muny Kids and Teens program spotlights young performers demonstrating exceptional voice and dance talent, stage presence, dedication, and discipline. The performance groups serve as goodwill ambassadors across the St. Louis area and perform at public and private events.

“My favorite part about performing with the Muny is all the people you meet along the way,” Adaeze Loynd details. “Ever since I was young, many of my teachers at Ladue have supported me in everything I do. Whether that be showing up for performances or helping me stay caught up in class when my schedule gets busy, they have always been there for me. I'm so grateful to be in a district where the staff cares for their students and always looks out for them no matter what.”

Ladue Schools is proud of our students for being ambassadors to the community and challenging themselves to continue growing their talents and skills.
