Ladue Schools is thrilled to announce that Sarah Kirksey, Practical Arts teacher at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, has been named the 2025 Ladue Schools District Teacher of the Year!
Sarah has spent the past nine years inspiring students through her work in Journalism and English, guiding them to refine their writing, discover their unique voice, and tell meaningful stories. Her classroom is a place where creativity flourishes, and students are empowered to express themselves with confidence and purpose.
At the heart of her teaching philosophy is a belief in the transformative power of words. One of her favorite quotes, from J.K. Rowling, beautifully sums it up:
“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury and remedying it.”
This passion for language and storytelling has left a lasting impact on her students and the entire Ladue Horton Watkins High School community.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions, the Ladue Education Foundation & Alumni Association proudly presented Sarah with a $1,500 award in celebration of this honor.
Please join us in congratulating Sarah Kirksey on this well-deserved recognition. Her dedication, talent, and heart make her a true inspiration to all of us in the Ladue Schools community.
