Ladue Schools Board of Education Names Dr. Geoff Macy as Next Superintendent
Dr. Geoff Macy

Dr. Geoffrey A. Macy has been named the district’s next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Macy will succeed Dr. Jim Wipke, who announced his retirement earlier this fall after a distinguished career serving the Ladue community.

The Board’s decision follows a comprehensive and rigorous nationwide search led by the Missouri School Boards Association, a process that included input from students, staff, and stakeholders across the community.

Dr. Macy currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance for Ladue Schools, a role he has held since 2021. He brings a deep understanding of the district’s operations, culture, and commitment to excellence, which has helped Ladue Schools maintain its standing as the #14-ranked school district in the U.S. and the Best School District in Missouri.

“We are grateful that we had an outstanding pool of qualified candidates; however, it is without reservation that we are excited to choose Dr. Macy as our next Superintendent,” said Ladue Schools Board President Marissa Rosen. “For four years, he has proven to be a strong and effective leader. He ensures our district is fiscally sound and committed to the success of all students. Because of Dr. Macy’s extensive experience in both classroom instruction and district-level operations, coupled with his qualifications and understanding of Ladue, we believe he is the ideal person to lead us.”

In his current role, Dr. Macy has been instrumental in overseeing all major district construction projects, financial operations, budgeting, food service, student transportation, safety and security, as well as facilities and maintenance for the district. His comprehensive background provides him with a unique perspective on what it takes to lead Ladue Schools.

“I am humbled and honored to be selected to serve as the next Superintendent of Ladue Schools,” Dr. Macy said. "Throughout my career as a teacher, an administrator, and a leader in national professional organizations, I recognize that the students, staff, and families are what make a district extraordinary. Here in Ladue, that truth is amplified. This community expects, and deserves, the highest level of honesty, transparency, and innovation from its leadership so that we can work together to achieve the absolute best for each and every student in our district.”

Dr. Macy holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Maryville University, as well as two Master of Arts in Education degrees and a Bachelor of Science degree from Lindenwood University and Central Methodist University, respectively. Additionally, he holds the professional designation of Certified School Finance and Operations Officer (SFO) from the Association of School Business Officials International. An organization for which Dr. Macy currently serves as president at the state-level (MoASBO) for the 2025-2026 school year.

His prior experience includes serving as the Chief Operating Officer for the Northwest School District, a Middle School Principal, an Assistant High School Principal, and an Adjunct Professor of School Finance at Maryville University. His career in education began as a physical education teacher, athletic director, and dean of student discipline in the St. Louis Public Schools, giving him more than 25 years of experience in education.

Dr. Macy and his wife, Angie, have two sons: Clayton and Grayson.

“We are confident that Dr. Macy will continue to build upon Ladue’s legacy of excellence while guiding us into the next chapter. We look forward to partnering with him in leading the students, staff, and community in the years to come,” concluded Rosen.

Details regarding engagement opportunities for the entire Ladue Schools community to congratulate Dr. Geoff Macy are forthcoming.
