Ladue Fifth Grade Center’s Lynda Guthrie Receives May’s Excellence in Education Award

Congratulations to Lynda Guthrie, a Reading/Writing/Social Studies teacher at the Fifth Grade Center, who received the district's final Excellence in Education Award for 2025-2026 at the Board of Education meeting on May 13.

“I like to say that Lynda is the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) of teaching fifth grade,” says Dr. Patricia Wilson, principal at FGC. “Teachers look up to her, whether they are new teachers or teachers who have been here for numerous years, because of her ability to lead. She does what she does because it makes her happy to not only deliver the work, but it also makes her even happier to see the product at the end of the school year when students continue to progress.”

The Excellence in Education Award recognizes outstanding Ladue Schools teachers and faculty and is awarded monthly at each school.
