Invested in Success: LHWHS Students Win Statewide Competition

Ladue Schools proudly celebrates Ladue Horton Watkins High School sophomores Zack McKenzie and Sam Steinberg for earning first place statewide in the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Foundation’s Stock Market Game™ for Outstanding Financial Performance.

Competing against 917 teams from across Missouri, Zack and Sam finished first in the high school division, demonstrating exceptional research, critical thinking, and analytical skills as they navigated real-world financial decisions.

The Stock Market Game is the SIFMA Foundation’s flagship program and a curriculum-based investing simulation that allows students to manage a virtual $100,000 portfolio. Participants make real-time investment decisions involving stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and Electronic Transfer Funds listed on the New York Stock Exchange and National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (NASDAQ), while tracking global news and market trends.

The competition reinforces lessons in economics, math, and personal finance while building essential life skills such as teamwork, planning, and financial responsibility.

Congratulations to Zack and Sam for this outstanding achievement and for representing the district with excellence on a statewide stage, highlighting Ladue Schools’ commitment to real-world learning opportunities.
