From Science Fair to Regional Spotlight: Ladue Senior Aiden Qian Featured in SLMM Magazine

Last spring, Ladue Schools celebrated the 83 student projects recognized at the Academy of Science – St. Louis Science Fair, highlighting our students’ creativity, innovation, and dedication to discovery. One of those standout projects continues to receive accolades: senior Aiden Qian of Ladue Horton Watkins High School.

Aiden’s project, “Innovative Approaches to Dissect 4D Genome Organization in Human Diseases,” originally earned him the prestigious St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society (SLMM) Award at the fair. Now, his work has been featured in the SLMM Society’s Fall 2025 magazine, showcasing his contribution to advancing biomedical research in the St. Louis region.

His research focused on developing a genome browser—a digital tool that helps researchers visualize and analyze complex DNA data—aimed at improving understanding of how genome organization influences human health and disease. Aiden’s passion for genetics began in middle school and has grown into a dedication to exploring the connection between genetic science and medical discovery.

The district congratulates Aiden on this exciting recognition for making an impact in science beyond the classroom.
