Elysabeth McCrary Named Assistant Principal at Old Bonhomme
Elysabeth McCrary

The Ladue Schools Board of Education approved the appointment of Elysabeth McCrary as Assistant Principal of Old Bonhomme Elementary School, effective July 1, 2024.

McCrary currently is a 6th-grade science teacher at Ladue Middle School (LMS). Although she has only been with the district since 2020, McCrary has made a significant impact on her school community. She sponsored the STEM GEMS After School Club, the Harry Potter "STEAM" After School Club, and partnered with Webster University Youth Game Jams.

Before becoming an educator, McCrary had many diverse professional experiences, including serving in the U.S. Air Force on active duty and the Air National Guard overseas and stateside. After her military career, McCrary became a Saint Louis County Police Officer and later a School Resource Officer (SRO) at an elementary school in the Mehlville School District. Her time as an SRO allowed her to work directly with students and build valuable relationships.

McCrary earned a bachelor's degree in Middle School Education from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. She obtained a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University and is pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Administration from Maryville University.

She will work alongside Principal Dr. Stephanie Taggert, replacing Dr. La’Kendra Garrett, who will leave the district to assume a principal role in a neighboring district.
