Ladue Schools congratulates Angela “Angie” Kraft, a speech-language pathologist with Special School District (SSD) at Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS), on being named one of ten winners of this year’s Lasting Impression Award by SSD.
This prestigious award recognizes SSD operations/support staff whose work has made a positive impact in ways that are not always directly associated with student support. These staff members are often people whose job is done either outside the classroom or as support for teachers, counselors, and therapists. Angie is a cornerstone of that support at LHWHS.
"Angie embodies the spirit of service and commitment that makes our school community thrive,” said LHWHS Principal Brad Griffith. “Her work ensures that every student she interacts with feels heard, valued, and empowered. Her support extends beyond academic success—it builds confidence and creates lasting relationships. We are incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our team, and we celebrate this well-deserved recognition."
Her role extends beyond traditional therapy—she fosters an environment where students develop confidence, social connections, and communication skills. From leading speech and language groups to establishing 'Lunch Bunch' sessions that provide social opportunities for students who struggle with large group settings, Angie creates spaces where every student feels seen and valued.
SSD staff members Jim Sievers, Special Education Coordinator, and Kerry Bennett, Special Education Teacher, perfectly captured Angie’s impact:
"Her impact is equally felt among students and staff, as she develops tailored resources, collaborates with general education teachers, and steps into classrooms to provide hands-on support for students and educators. Beyond academics, she fosters inclusion by helping students build friendships, join clubs, and confidently navigate social situations. Angie’s tireless commitment to advocacy, student success, and fostering a truly inclusive school community makes her an indispensable asset to SSD and Ladue Schools."
Please join us in congratulating Angela Kraft on this incredible achievement! Thank you, Angie, for all you do to make Ladue Schools a place where students feel supported and empowered to become passionate learners and achieve their highest potential.
