Building Tomorrow’s Leaders: Senior Alyssa Kuhstoss Selected for the Fred Saigh Leadership Academy

Ladue Schools congratulates Alyssa Kuhstoss, a senior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, on her selection to the Fred Saigh Leadership Academy’s Class of 2026. Alyssa is one of only 12 high school students chosen from across the region for this prestigious program, which recognizes exceptional leadership potential among students with disabilities.

Established in 2004 by the Special Education Foundation, the Fred Saigh Leadership Academy provides high school students with disabilities opportunities to expand their horizons through hands-on, community-based experiences. Each year, up to 20 students are selected to participate in this year-long program, which focuses on developing leadership skills and preparing students to make a positive impact in their schools and communities.

Throughout the year, Academy participants take part in a series of leadership workshops and community engagement activities designed to foster confidence, communication, and teamwork. Students visit key organizations and institutions across the St. Louis metropolitan area, learning from civic and business leaders who are shaping their communities.

These experiences help students apply leadership concepts in meaningful, real-world settings—empowering them to pursue school leadership roles, organize projects, and inspire their peers. The program culminates in a graduation ceremony celebrating each participant’s personal and leadership growth.

Ladue Schools is incredibly proud of Alyssa for earning this honor. Her selection reflects her dedication, initiative, and commitment to making a difference. We look forward to seeing how she continues to grow as a leader through this remarkable opportunity.
