Brilliant Minds: LHWHS Science Bowl Team Wins Big and Heads to Nationals

The Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) Science Bowl team recently electrified the Missouri Regional Science Bowl competition at Lindbergh High School, earning first place! Not only did they remain undefeated throughout the tournament, but they also showcased exceptional teamwork, sportsmanship, and a passion for learning.

Science teacher and team sponsor Shanae Yancy expressed her pride in the students, highlighting their positive attitude and camaraderie.

LHWHS Science Bowl Team Celebrates Win

"Not only did they win, but they had FUN," Yancy said. "They engaged in friendly competition, helped others figure out tough questions—even when the moderators couldn’t—and consistently supported one another through every round. When someone got an answer wrong, they were instantly encouraging each other. I lost count of how many compliments I received about their positivity and encouragement."

LHWHS Participates and Wins Science Bowl Regional

The championship-winning team consists of Aaron Lin, Alex Wang, Rishi Suri, Anthony Zhao, and Ayden Huang, all led by their dedicated coach, Shanae Yancy. Their victory has earned them a spot at the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., on April 24th, where they will represent Ladue Schools on a national stage.

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding students and sponsor for their hard work, dedication, and incredible achievement. They have represented Ladue Schools with intelligence, kindness, and enthusiasm, and we couldn’t be prouder. Best of luck at Nationals
