Vision Statement

To inspire and create meaningful artistic expressions that bridge personal vision and external context, fostering a deeper understanding of how art conveys emotions, ideas, and stories. Through the interpretation, presentation, and development of innovative work, we aim to empower both artists and audiences to connect with the transformative power of art, while embracing its role in shaping culture and society.

Ongoing Frameworks that Shape Learning

The Actor’s Toolbox (Focus 5 / Kennedy Center)

Each unit integrates key body-voice-mind habits of successful performers, encouraging focus, cooperation, and confidence. Students practice self-regulation, collaboration, and creative expression as daily habits.

Improvisation & Creative Drama

Spontaneous play and imaginative storytelling are embedded throughout the year to build ensemble, activate empathy, and spark original ideas.

Habits of Mind (from Why Theatre Education Matters by Dr. Thalia Goldstein)

Students are guided by eight key habits (e.g., perspective-taking, persistence, metacognition, empathy) to develop social-emotional awareness, reflective thinking, and resilience—tools for both life and stage.
