Interventions | Student Supports
Tier One: Instruction for All
All students receive instruction on grade level standards using a board-approved curriculum. Including whole group instruction, small group instruction, independent practice, reteaching, and differentiated instruction.
Tier Two: Target Supports
Students receive targeted support guided by assessment and data review processes. Targeted supports occur in the classroom setting, utilizing resources that are identified for Tier 2 instruction.
Tier Three: Intensive Interventions
Students receive intensive interventions that require support beyond the classroom setting when progress monitoring data indicates the student needs more support than targeted instruction in the classroom. The student receives instruction with an evidence-based intervention.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program
Supports development of English fluency, academic success, and cultural awareness in English Language Learners. (Supports Core Instruction)
Gifted and Talented Program
The gifted program provides a flexible, innovative, and rigorous learning environment with instruction that differs in pace, depth, and elaboration of study to facilitate each student toward becoming a lifelong learner and a responsible global citizen.
Reading Specialist Support
The Reading Specialist Team provides intensive intervention to students and serves as a resource for our teachers in the area of Literacy. Their instruction is based on using ongoing data and assessments to ensure students receive the support they need. They collaborate with teachers on best practices and curriculum resources to ensure all students are successful.
Math Specialist Support
The Math Specialist Team provides intensive support for students. They use ongoing data and assessments to deliver instruction that helps students build a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills. Additionally, they collaborate with teachers on best practices and curriculum.
Social Emotional Learning
Supports the whole child with growing their social and emotional learning by delivering innovative, individualized, and inquiry-based programming designed to address the academic and social-emotional needs of our students inside and outside of the classroom.
504 Plan
The 504 Plan is a plan developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives accommodations that will ensure their academic success and access to the learning environment.
Special Education
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) ensures that all children with disabilities are entitled to a free appropriate public education to meet their unique needs and prepare them for further education, employment, and independent living.
Reading Success Plan
The Reading Success Plan (RSP) is a systematic process that helps identify students who need additional support in reading and provides a framework for developing and implementing a plan to help them succeed.
Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
An Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is a personalized document that outlines the academic and language needs, as well as the goals, for a student who is an English Learner (EL).
