Reunion Planning Guide
Planning a Reunion?
Below are some frequently asked questions when it comes to planning the event.
Who can plan a reunion?
Reunions are often coordinated by a classmate who is interested in facilitating the event. A reunion committee is then created, comprised of classmates who would like to participate in planning the reunion events.
How can I contact classmates for the reunion?
Reunion coordinators may request a class contact list (Excel format) by email by email. Coordinators agree to share the contact list only with other classmates on the reunion committee and use contact information only for the purpose of communicating reunion details. Coordinators also agree not to re-publish a contact list in any form (website, social media, etc.) or distribute it via email or hard copy to the rest of the class.
Are reunions provided with funds to help pay for the event?
Funds are not provided to help pay for reunions. However, the Ladue School District offers services such as printing and mailing for a lower cost than retail outlets.
What are some venues that past reunion groups have used to host events?
There are many wonderful establishments in the Greater St. Louis area that would be suitable to host a high school reunion. Below we have listed a few that are close in proximity to the district and have been used in the past:
Can a tour of the high school be scheduled for our reunion festivities?
Yes, high school tours are available to reunion groups on Friday's at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. and Saturday's at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m.. Tours usually take an hour to complete. Send an email to inquire.
How should the reunion class handle money?
The reunion coordinators may decide to set up a checking account in the class name and add reunion committee members to the account. Another option may be to set up a PayPal account to accept credit cards as a form of payment for the reunion activities.
How can classes give back to their alma mater?
Classes can give back by coordinating with classmates to give in honor of their class, in the name of a favorite educator, or for other initiatives. They simply need to decide among themselves how to designate the donation and spread the word to fellow alumni. Donations may be made online, or by checks payable to “LEF,” mailed to 9703 Conway Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63124; simply include class gift information on the memo line.
If you need assistance in planning your donation or deciding how to designate it, please contact the Ladue Education Foundation by email.
One example of a creative gift was the donation from the Class of 1966. To celebrate its 50th reunion, alumni raised funds to purchase naming opportunities at the renovated high school. In addition, they allocated some of their funds to reach beyond Ladue School District boundaries and assist a city school with its technology needs, supplying laptop computers to Patrick Henry Downtown Academy.
We welcome class gifts of any amount. Donations are vital to the work of the Ladue Education Foundation & Alumni Association. Your gift honors the legacy of those who have graduated, and creates opportunities for current and future students!
How do I know if a reunion is being planned?
All reunion and alumni event planning is initiated by alumni, not the Alumni Association. If your class is planning a reunion, typically, a class rep will obtain a current contact list from the Alumni Association and reach out to classmates with reunion information. If you do not have updated contact information on file with the Alumni Association, you might find your event listed on this site's Upcoming Events page. Also, many reunion committees will reach out to fellow classmates on a class Facebook page. If nothing can be found online, you are always welcome to email laduealum@ladueschools.net to be connected with your class representative or to see if the Alumni Association has been made aware of an event for your class.
