Congratulations to LHWHS senior Donna LaMore who was selected for a second time to represent the St. Louis Suburban District at the All-State Sight Reading Bee, and was also selected as an All-State Soprano alternate at State Auditions on Saturday, Nov. 4. More than 300 students audition for District Choir, and only the highest score is selected for this honor.

The competition will be held at Tan-Tar-A during the Music Educators Conference in January. It is similar to a spelling bee but instead of words, students are given excerpts of music to sing without any accompaniment and a short amount of time for study. The excerpts become increasingly more difficult and consist of multiple rounds to eventually determine the finalist.
