Ladue Horton Watkins High School Laduettes Are No. 1 in the Nation for Hip Hop

This Sunday, Feb. 28, the Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) Laduettes danced their way to the top at the National Dance Alliance’s National Competition in Orlando, Florida. The pom and dance team won first place in the nation for hip hop with a score of 91.33 – the highest score out of over 20 teams from across the U.S. in the hip hop category for medium-sized schools. The team also placed No. 8 in the nation in the Pom category.

Laduettes bust a move for FOX 2

“These girls have proven that hard work, determination and teamwork combined make great things happen,” said Principal Brad Griffith. “Our school and district couldn’t be more proud of their drive and their accomplishment. Congratulations, ladies.”

The team also placed first in hip hop and second in poms at the 2016 St. Charles Classic Dance Competition. This is the sixth year the team has qualified for nationals.

LHWHS Laduettes Dance Team Shows Off in Florida

The Ladue Horton Watkins High School Laduettes dance team made the top ten finalists at the NDA National Dance Team Competition in Orlando on March 6-8, 2015.

The Laduettes won seventh place in the nation for Pom and ninth place in Hip Hop.

LHWHS Students Dance Marathon Raises Big Bucks for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in St. Louis

More than 200 Ladue Horton Watkins High School students got on their feet for the Second Annual Ladue Dance Marathon on Saturday, January 31, 2015.   Fundraising efforts for the The Kids of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis topped $27, 350, bringing LHWHS Dance Marathon’s two-year donations to more than $53,000 for CMNH-STL.

The Laduettes Dance Their Way to Nationals Competition

The Ladue Horton Watkins High School Laduettes dance team won first place in Pom and first place in Hip Hop in the St. Charles Classic Dance Team Competition on January 24, 2015.  Last December, the Laduettes took second place in both categories in the Yvonne Cole Lindbergh Invitational Regional Dance Team Competition.

LMS’ Claire Rowe Wins in the Miss Audrain Scholarship Pageant

Claire Rowe’s was first runner-up and winner of the People’s Choice Award in the Miss Audrain Scholarship Pageant held on November 8, 2014  in Mexico, Missouri. Claire’s winning performance was tap dancing to “Happy.”

Laduettes Again Take Two Firsts in Dance Competition

The Laduettes won first place in both Hip Hop and Pom at the St. Charles Classic Pom Pon Competition on January 25, 2014.  The team’s Hip Hop dance scored the highest of any dance in the competition.  The team is coached by Julie Fields and Alexandra Guenther.

Laduettes Awarded Two Firsts in Lindbergh Dance Competition

On Saturday, December 7, 2013, the Laduettes Dance Team received two first place awards at the 2013 Lindbergh Yvonne Cole International Dance Competition.  In addition to earning first place in both the Hip Hop and Pom competitions, the team took home a Judge’s Award for Outstanding Showmanship in Hip Hop.

Conway’s Reynolds Shows His Dance Moves

Carter Reynolds, a kindergartener at Conway Elementary School, was recently seen dancing on television, in a KSDK story about a dancing class for children with cerebral palsy.  Both Carter, and his mother Shelly Reynolds, are interviewed in this heartwarming and inspiring story.

Laduettes Place First at St. Charles Dance Competition

On January 26, 2013, the Laduettes, Ladue Horton Watkins High School’s dance team, placed first in both categories in which they competed — Poms and Hip Hop — at a competition at St. Charles High School.  The team will be competing at the National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Florida on February 2 and 3, 2013.  The team is coached by Julie Fields and Alexandra Whaley Gunther.
