High School Students Wins Seats in All-State Band and All-State Orchestra

Congratulations to the following Ladue Horton Watkins High School students on winning a seat in the All-State Band or All-State Orchestra. These students competed against students from across the state via blind auditions in Columbia, MO.

These students will represent LHWHS at performances at the MMEA convention at Tan-Tar-A on Jan. 25-28, 2017.

Senior Announced a Winner of the 18th Annual George N. Tuerck Concerto Competition

Congratulations to Joel Rosen, a senior at LHWHS, who was announced one of three winners of the Belleville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra’s 18th annual George N. Tuerck Concerto Competition!

The three students will perform at the orchestra’s Tuerck Memorial Concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at Life Church, 4180 Smelting Works Road in Swansea. The public is invited.

Joel, the son of Robert and Wendy Rosen, plays cello with the St. Louis Youth Orchestra and Preparatory Program. He has attended the Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory for three years. He also plays piano. He is a Ladue Tri-M Music Honor Society member and Ultimate Frisbee competitor.

LHWHS Band and Choir Students Excel at Solo & Ensemble Festivals

Congratulations to the Ladue Horton Watkins High School’s choir and band students for their achievements in the MSHSAA festivals!

The Ladue Treble Choir and Chorale received 1 ratings for their performances at the MSHSAA State Choir Festival. Soloist Anne Heartney (10) received a 1 rating at the MSHSAA District Solo and Small Ensemble Festival. The Small Ensemble including Ashley Balsavias (9), Ariel Brown (10), Rose Coughlin (9), Jasmine Duncan (9), and Andrea Hartman (9), also received a 1 rating at the event for the students’ performance.

The following students received high ratings for their performances at the MSHSAA District Solo and Small Ensemble Festival for Band:

LHWHS Students Named to All-State Band

The following Ladue Horton Watkins High School students won a seat in the Missouri All-State Band or All-State Orchestra.  They competed against 1,200 students from across the state via blind auditions in Columbia, Missouri.  Only 108 were selected. These young musicians will represent LHWHS at performances at the Missouri Music Educators Association Convention on January 28-31, 2015.
