Senior Girls and Boys Swimming and Diving Members Earn All American Honors

All nine graduating senior girls of the Girls’ and two graduating senior boys of the Boys’ Swimming & Diving teams at Ladue Horton Watkins High School earned All American Academic status with the National Interscholastic Coaches Association (NISCA) for achieving an average cumulative GPA of 3.75 or greater for the first seven semesters of their high school careers!

As a class of graduating seniors, the senior girls’ team captains Sophia Garland, Taylor Korte and Anna Reichert, and seniors Elizabeth Collinger, Sarah Green, Olivia Jurgiel, Marisa Pummer, Nicole Thompson, and Anna Waltke achieved an average cumulative GPA of 3.975.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that these nine seniors, together with 18 underclass varsity letter recipients of the Girls’ Swimming & Diving Team, earned a cumulative average GPA of 3.838 to be a GOLD Level (3.750-4.000) All American Scholar Team with NISCA.

While current year rankings will not be available until after the June 15 submission deadline, last year’s 2015-2016 Girls’ team ranked 32nd nationally with a cumulative average GPA of 3.821 out of 16,432 of girls’ and boys’ high school aquatic programs with over 342,294 participating students. Approximately 2% of these students are recognized as high school All Americans.

And on the boys’ side, senior boys’ team captain Cedrick Everaert and senior Michael Heins earned the same All American Academic Honor while combining with 22 underclass varsity letter recipients of the Boys’ Swimming & Diving Team to achieve a cumulative average GPA of 3.698, earning them a SILVER Level (3.500-3.749) All American Scholar Team, following a 34th national ranking last year (2015-2016).
