Robotics Teams Wins Strategy and Innovation Award

Ladue School District’s robotics team won a Strategy and Innovation Award for their robot, “LEGO My Chocolate.”

Hundreds of teachers, peers and members of the community watched and cheered as 24 teams competed in the first-ever Mid-Missouri FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics Qualifier tournament at Camdenton High School on November 16, 2013.

Boys Varsity Soccer Finishes Strong with All-Conference Recognitions

Coach Matt Prange was named Suburban South Conference Coach of the Year with Varsity Boys players also earning All-Conference recognition.

Conway’s Reynolds Shows His Dance Moves

Carter Reynolds, a kindergartener at Conway Elementary School, was recently seen dancing on television, in a KSDK story about a dancing class for children with cerebral palsy.  Both Carter, and his mother Shelly Reynolds, are interviewed in this heartwarming and inspiring story.

LMS Wins Staff Volleyball Tournament

The Ladue Middle School staff  are the champs of the 2013 Staff Volleyball tournament.  The Ladue Early Childhood Center and Spoede Elementary school also fielded teams.  Other staff members, as well as spouses and children, cheered on all three teams and a good time was had by all.  It also gave Ladue Middle School a chance to show off their new rock climbing wall and let staff members and their families give it a try.

Conway’s Walther Performs at Carnegie Hall

Nancy Walther, music teacher at Conway Elementary School and member of The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Chorus performed at Carnegie Hall on Friday, November 22, 2013 in Benjamin Britten’s opera, “Peter Grimes.”

“I am thrilled to be part of this powerful production with our amazing orchestra and an awesome cast of opera singers,” stated Walther.  “Only a handful of elite orchestras routinely get invitations to perform at Carnegie and the St. Louis Symphony is fortunate enough to be one of them.”  

Ladue Broadcast Technology Students Win National Awards

The student-produced television show Ladue View, finished 8th in the nation for “Best of Show” at the 2013 JEA/NSPA (Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association). Over 5,500 journalism students and advisers attended this conference in Boston.

2008 Graduate Heidenreich Pays It Forward as a Resource Teacher

Emma Heidenreich, a 2008 graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School and recent graduate of the University of Kansas is now a resource teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District. Emma recently completed her own personal campaign to raise private funds to buy iPads for her students at Brookridge Elementary School in Kansas City.  She is shown here featured on the cover of the University of Kansas School of Education Alumni Magazine.

2009 Graduate Betsy Crowder to Intern for German Parliament

Ladue Horton Watkins High School graduate Betsy Crowder has recently been accepted as an intern for a member of the German Parliament.  She will be in Germany from March to August 2014 for this program funded by the German government through an International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) program.  Betsy is also a 2013 graduate of Washington University.

The Ladue Horton Watkins High School speech and debate team, the Talking Rams, competed in the Oakville Events Round Robin hosted by Oakville High School on Friday, November 1. 2013 and the Brentwood Debate Round Robin hosted by Brentwood High School on Saturday, November 2, 2013.
