Ladue Schools Departments

Superintendent's Office

The Ladue Schools Acting Superintendent is Dr. Judy Sclair.  The office of the superintendent is responsible for carrying out the directives, decisions and policies of the Board of Education.  All other departments in the district report to the Superintendent who has ultimate responsibility for the management of all district programs, services and operations, including administrative organization, tax/bond levies, government/legal issues, student suspension and expulsions, administration of the Strategic Plan, legislative monitoring, and school closings.

Teaching & Learning

This department is responsible for the development and maintenance of curriculum throughout the Ladue Schools, including research, implementation of new programming, professional development, educational alignment tools, as well as many of the intervention programs and assessment tools used by the district.

Nearly all services provided to students in the Ladue Schools are also coordinated through this department, including: Special School District, counseling, homeless, psychological and social services; testing and assessment, including gifted testing and curriculum; acceleration programs; student records; residency; summer school; and Collaborative School.

Human Resources

Employee recruitment and hiring are managed through this office, as well as the coordination of many of the benefits and services provided to existing employees.  Other programs and services managed by this office include: personnel and systems coordination for substitutes, student teachers and teacher assistants; human resource policy.

All financial and business service functions of the district are managed through this office, including: budget management, auditing, financial statement development, state financial reporting, insurance benefit administration, payroll, retirement benefits, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and travel expenses.

Communications

Responsible for media and public relations; internal and external communications, both digital and print, including newsletters, handbooks, brochures and the district Web site;  district event coordination and coordination of special district projects, such as bond referendum and tax increases communications;  internal print coordination and production, district photography and coordination of districtwide charitable giving campaigns.

The Technology Department provides districtwide support for the purchasing, maintenance, help and user training for all computers, copiers, phones, hardware, and software used within the district by both employees and students.  This includes management and support of the following applications: FirstClass, Alio, Infinite Campus, and TimeCenter.  Enrollment and Free and Reduced Lunch data are managed within the Technology Department.

Facilities and Maintenance

Services coordinated through this department include: transportation; safety assessments and procedures; security and grounds maintenance; and warehousing.   This department also works in conjunction with the district’s suppliers and general contractors when construction projects are underway on district properties and facilities.
